Halloween Costume Party

We (my Primary presidency) had a Halloween Costume Party for all of the adult leaders in Primary and their 'significant ghoul' (October 15th). We have 50 Primary callings in our Ward (nursery, jr/sr primary, & cub scouts) so it could have been like 100 people...whoa. But it was at the end of Fall Break and so we were planning around 40-60 people. We decided for our Appreciation Gift that we would make caramel apples. We made 50, yes 50 of them, the morning of the party. We put them in clear plastic gift bags, tied with ribbon and had a candy corn 'thank you' tag. I should have taken a picture after but here they are sitting on my counter before we ran them to the church. They turned out awesome and tasted mighty yummy. I was a bit nervous for this one since I was in charge of this part. I experimented with about a dozen apples with a few different caramel recipe variations leading up to the party but we ended up using the caramel wraps (from Walmart) since they were super easy and I thought the caramel worked and looked best. A must try cause you can't really screw those up. And then we drizzled white and semi-sweet chocolate all around in a semi-pumpkin way.

This was our first real costume party we've been too so Adam found us some sweet costumes on Craigslist... 1983 Prom King & Queen (which I thought was even cooler since it was the year I was born :)

We had soups served in pumpkin bread bowls, salads, and desserts for food. We then voted on the best costume which there were many, everyone went all out, played some minute-to-win-it games, and passed out the apples. It was a great night...

I saw these bats on MADE last year and have been wanting to try them out so this was the perfect opportunity. Veva hung them up all around the gym and they turned out awesome...super cheap but sweet decor item.

Karyn & Dave won 'best' costume this year, but how can you not with these costumes. They were a hit. Best part was when we were judging the costumes and Karyn had the 'ghost busters' music playing from her phone and marshmellow-man Dave was busting some moves, hilarious. Thanks for the good laughs!! (I'm a little sad writing this since Karyn & Dave are probably moving in a few weeks. She is my 1st counselor and is awesome. It's been over a year now since we were called in, which is crazy to think about. We all work so good together so I'll be sad to see her leave :(

That morning Lincoln had his last sports class which was baseball as you can see. He might be a left-handed star one day cause he can throw and smack that ball :)
