Back in June, Adam and Lincoln planted some corn & pumpkin seeds in this little garden spot in the back of our yard. The birds would not leave the corn seeds alone (devouring every single one he would replant) but the pumpkin plant started to grow and flourish.
When we came back from Powell (mid July) the pumpkin plant had grown
about six feet onto the grass, which we were shocked. But this beast
keeps on a growing, now reaching to the front of the grass...clearly taking over our lawn. The best part about it may be watching Adam go outside each morning and evening to check on his plant, he couldn't be more proud. At one point he was so nervous that the female flower wouldn't get pollinated from the male flower because he wasn't seeing any bees. It wasn't uncommon to find Adam in the backyard with a q-tip pollinating them himself, haha. It was the best. But the bees came out in full force and this plant has taken off! Go ADAM!!!
Touching the brick stones at the front of our lawn...
There are a few pumpkins well on their way...
Looks like we'll have our own pumpkin patch come mid-October...so exciting!!! (and all the credit goes to A-man :)
