Valentine's Day 2011

Our Valentine's Day started off with a party at our house (playgroup Valentine's Day party) with 20 kids & their moms...yes, one big PARTY!

I put out some treats for the kids/moms. I was excited to use this new Valentine's table runner that my friend made me as a 'thank you'. She even posted about it on her craft blog so I was feeling the love!

We started off with Valentine box decorating. Each child brought a box with them to decorate. The first wave came in, decorated, and outside they went for more activities. Here's the next wave with a bit more breathing room to work :) (Dax & Kyron came with their Grandma since their mom was having her baby that day!)

After they decorated their boxes, they went outside to frost some heart sugar cookies. I couldn't have asked for a better day - it was BEAUTIFUL! Sunny; mid-seventies; my kind of day.

Lincoln was LOVING the frosting. By the time the party ended, he had had two sugar cookies and one cupcake - total sugar-high!

I found some heart beads for the kids to make bracelets with. They turned out pretty cute and also kept them occupied with putting the beads on...

After some eating, playing, and chatting, the kids came in to put their Valentine's in each others boxes. It was fun to see the kids get into putting a Valentine in each box, Lincoln thought that was pretty sweet.

Here's a look at the Valentine box filling...

It looked awesome with the kids' boxes all lined up. They started at the front door and wrapped all the way around. The kids got hooked up with candy!

Kenedee & Elsie

There were a lot of kids/moms but it made for a great morning. Kenedee & Lincoln were in heaven: friends, candy, playing. And the moms could all get in some chatting, win-win if you ask me!

After the party ended, we got Kenedee ready to go for her Preschool Valentine's Day party. It's so fun to see her writing her own name and to see her write all of the names of her classmates on their Valentine's. It's the cutest thing if you ask me!

Kenedee went to Preschool, Lincoln went to play at a friend's house, and Adam & I enjoyed a perfect lunch at Red Lobster. Since Lincoln missed his nap time, I was going to try and keep him up. About a half hour into "How to Train Your Dragon", this is what he looked like...

That evening we took the kids to McDonalds and came home to some Valentine's on the doorstep.

(We made a purchase the weekend before that made for one great Valentine's Day present (pics to come with the house complete). We also found Adam an antique gavel that looks perfect in his office.) One fabulous day!
