After recovering from the broken snake and enjoying some dinner with the Ahumadas, it was our time to board the Polar Express (Wednesday, December 21st). (We did this last year and the kids LOVED it so much that we had to do it again, they could not stop asking about it when December came around). They were so excited to get on the train...
Here they are boarding the train. It is EXACTLY like the book and oohhhh so magical!
Weston, Lincoln, Iris, Kenedee & Caleb....
The hot chocolate & cookies made my Mrs. Claus are incredibly delicious. Lincoln very much enjoyed his as well. (Kenedee couldn't finish her hot chocolate so I drank it down...which I'm pretty sure is when the flu bug started working it's secret magic in me). The conductor came through our train car and punched all of our tickets...
We're getting closer!
As we neared the North Pole, the lights on the train turn off and they play the most magical music aboard the train (song from the movie). It feels like Disneyland all over again :) I love this picture of Lincoln looking at the North Pole lights...
After a few houses and workshops, the train passes the most gigantic sleigh with the BIGGEST red sack of presents I've ever seen - amazing. And there is Santa standing on his sleigh waving at all of us inside the train. LOVE IT. After we pass the North Pole the train stops and as it starts to move again back towards the train station (passing back through the North Pole) we all start singing 'Here Comes Santa Claus' and in he walks!
Santa Claus is even more magical in person! He gave Lincoln and Kenedee the biggest hugs and then handed each of the kids a bell.
(Weston (7 years old and questioning whether Santa was real) had lost a black 'ping' rubber bracelet at the park a few months ago. He has been so sad ever since so he put it on his Christmas list this year. When Santa neared our end of the train, he walked over to where the Ahumadas were seating and pulled out that very same black 'ping' bracelet from his pocket asking Weston...'is this yours?' Weston's face lit up with the biggest smile I've ever seen saying 'this is the real Santa!'. Quite the magical moment for us all to witness. I think Weston is a believer for life :)
The Polar Express...a winner in our book!

We did that this year as well. It was awesome. We tried the one in Utah a couple years ago and it was okay buy the Arizona one is ten times better. Great memories for sure
