Staycation

I had never really heard this word til we moved to Arizona. And that's just what everyone does...staycations. Since Phoenix is the Resort hub and the summer heat isn't exactly their prime-time, they give great deals during those hot months. Our Staycation opportunity came at Cibola Vista in Peoria. We stayed Friday and Saturday night (September 9th and 10th) and loved our weekend getaway.

We woke up Saturday for a morning of tennis. Adam bought the kids their first rackets in preparation for this weekend (they've been using our badmitton rackets when we go play tennis :) and they were excited! They've both got some serious skills!!!

We spent our day at the pool, oh how I love the sun and water: my perfect vacation!

Do you see that man standing in the background of Lincoln's picture. Well he so happened to be the man that tuned our piano...talk about SMALL WORLD. We were at the pool and saw a family come out with kids our same age. I told Kenedee and Lincoln to ask if they'd want to play and little by little they finally interacted. So we start chatting with the parents. Find out they recently moved here from the South, husband is a piano tuner, she works at the hospital, etc. I ask them their name cause this was all sounding too familiar. Turns out he was the man Adam found on Craigslist to tune our piano. Once we started looking for pianos, Adam found him on Craigslist and would email him about pianos we'd find, asking if they were a good brand, good price, etc. He even went and checked out a few for us since he knew what to look for. So once we bought, he came and tuned our piano and was the nicest guy (and knows his stuff about pianos). Small World!

We heard (from the piano man :) that there was a Mellow Mushroom nearby...WHAT!!!! We loved this joint in Atlanta and made sure we ate there on Saturday night. It brought back some good memories and was mighty delicious!!!!!

Staycations will now be a yearly thing in this family, it was the perfect weekend getaway!!!!
