Adam has to get credits each year to keep his Arizona Bar association active, or something like that :) Instead of taking a few different classes throughout the year, they have these 3-day conferences (held once a year) at local resorts where lawyers can get them all at one time. It was held at the Arizona Biltmore this year so we decided to treat our family to a mini-staycation...sweetness!
We arrived Wednesday, June 20th and checked out on Friday, the 22nd. Adam had a few classes each day and then would come meet up with us at the pool during his off time. It was so fun hanging out by the pool all day, everyday. And then grabbing yummy dinners nearby.
Kenedee & Lincoln are total water lovers. They loved being in the water and going down the slide, over and over again...
This is when Pierce first started showcasing the 'wave' (hello). Here he is waving at anyone he could see...which got even crazier on our trip to Utah/Idaho a week later. This boy is Mr. Social...
The walkway from our room to the one of the many pools. This resort was sweet...
The Nelsons met up with us one evening for dinner at Zupas (oh I love that place :) and then swimming at the Resort. We walked around after and the kids couldn't help but splash in the color-changing fountain...
The average person might not have appreciated this place like I did, but loving all things beautifully designed, on paper, in nature, architecture, furniture, etc...I WAS LOVING THIS PLACE! Here's a little history from the hotel's website...
"One of the only existing luxury hotels in the world with a Frank
Lloyd Wright-influenced design, The Arizona Biltmore has been an Arizona
landmark since its opening on Feb. 23, 1929 when it was crowned "The
Jewel of the Desert." The resort was designed by Albert Chase McArthur, a
Harvard graduate, who had studied under Frank Lloyd Wright.
Perhaps the most obvious and dramatic design link to Wright is the
use of indigenous materials that led to the creation of the "Biltmore
Block." The pre-cast concrete blocks were molded on-site and used in the
total construction of the resort. The "Biltmore Block"
features a geometric pattern that is said to represent a freshly cut
palm tree."
The 'Biltmore Block' was used all throughout the resort - pretty sweet if you ask me..
Who says it can't be lusch and green in Arizona...
Genious: a chess/checkers game on the grounds (which has been around from the beginning). We never had time to play it but maybe we'll just have to put one in our next house, haha.
This will for sure be a new tradition of ours so we can check out these amazing resorts here in Phoenix. It was a perfect family bonding vacay!
