LP Day 5: Hole In The Rock

Friday, July 15th, we decided to find a beach that morning and let the kids play. As we drove into Warm Creek Bay, we realized that good beachs at Powell this year were going to be hard to come by since the water was so much higher. We found a beach that would do for an hour or so and let the kids play with their buckets.

Kurt and Paige tried to get Benson up on skiis (trying it out on the beach first) but Benson was tired and not a fan. Maybe next year...

We packed up and headed up the lake. We found a cool canyon to eat lunch in before our 'Hole in the Rock' hike... Kurt was being a crazy man this trip and getting himself stuck on canyon walls. The worried mother I've become was not a fan. Here's Kurt on the little climb up the crack. Kenedee decided to take a swim...

After lunch we hiked up Hole in the Rock. This is where 250 pioneers, 80 wagons and 1,000 cattle came down to cross the Colorado River (to eventually settle Bluff).

Once you reach the top (totally sweating) you get to sign your name saying you made it! It's crazy to be up on top and have it be so flat.

Here we are before heading back down...
