LP Day Three: Escalante

The Escalante Arm is one of my dad's favorites but is too far of a boat drive from Wahweap. So this day was his day :) It is beautiful up there and has a few of our favorites...

This little hike can get pretty intense. Adam decided to take Lincoln this year and I am happy I didn't see him on this hike (since I stayed back on the boat with the little ones). Apparently there was a 30 foot drop where they tied a ski rope to Lincoln's life jacket to lower him down, or where he sat on Adam's lap while he scaled up the wall. But they made it back safely and Lincoln thought he was pretty cool for going with the big kids...

Next stop was Davis Gulch. Here's the view headed in...

After you boat around the curve, here's the view from the backside... a family favorite going way back to the grandparents.

Across the way was this rock to cliff jump from. These crazies jumped first...

And then they went again... like I said, crazies :) My 8 year old niece was up there and loved it!

Our last stop for the day was Hole-in-the-Rock where the Pioneers came down and crossed the river. We didn't think we could fit this one in but the hikers made pretty good time. Adam took Lincoln on this hike with him - which is no easy hike. Here's the view from the boat looking up & then the view from the top. Go Lincoln!!!

Kate, Lincoln, & Adam on the way up...

The group from the top minus my dad who was taking the picture. Go team!

These two entertained themselves back at the boat by sitting in Grandpa's chair. Pierce was thinking he was a cool dude. Isn't little Scouty the cutest :)

Pierce also enjoyed himself some messy red vines...

And Kenedee & Asher did not want to hike but instead played in the water for about 2 hours straight. Not joking. These two hit it off this trip and played make-believe dog/owner or dragons the entire trip!

Day Three: Major hiking props for LINCOLN!!!
